The Goal of Education

"Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education."
By: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

What this quote means is that great intelligence and great character will produce a great amount of achievement. I believe that intelligence is really not enough because everybody has it. Anyone can memorize a song, a mathematical equation, the periodic table, the 50 states and etc. Great character is essential to have if you want to achieve. Having a great character is the goal of education. An example would be the bicycle. How you need intelligence and character in order for you to ride your bike. Just like us. we need it to advance in society. If you have less character and and more intelligence, it won't work out. Also if you have more character and less intelligence, it won't work out as well. That's why you need both to balance everything out. I really do like and agree with this quote because you need both wheels to  move. It is impossible to move with a flat tire.
