"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."

I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what's right."
By: Dean Smith
What i understand is that all he wanted to do was the right. He wasn't trying to leave a legacy. He just wanted people to do whats right. He never intended to leave his named marked, he wanted to have people do whats right for others. He was a ctr person. An example would be that he made alot of players go to the NBA. He left a legacy because he was being rewarded, that he choose the right. And people wanted to remember him. so they named a stadium after him. He had to be rewarded for ctr.

Lead your life

"It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you."
By: Dr. Randy Pausch

What this quote means is that living life the right way leads to being able to achieve your dreams. Living your life the wrong way only brings you bad karma which prevents you from achieving your dreams. It is important to not only go towards your goals but go towards how you live your life in general. The reason for this is because not living your life the correct way will bring you obstacles and closed doors. For example, a person who makes bad choices and whose life is a total mess might not be able to work towards or achieve a goal because of all the bad habits and mistakes he/she has done. Your destiny is based on only your actions, and the choices you decide to make. Only you can prevent yourself from achieving anything you want, and that is by making the wrong choices. If you lead your life the right way you can achieve your dreams. The dreams will come to you if you make good choices for yourself and always do the right things that you know are correct. Karma comes back.

Educating the body, mind, and character

"Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and above all the CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation."
By: Theodore Roosevelt

What this quote defines is that you need to educate your body and character in order to do good for your country. You must train others in giving moral training for those who are going to choose the faith of this country. And hope they will choose the right for this country to live. An example would be is you need to choose what's best for you and everyone around you. Like a class president, he or she chooses the best for his class. That's what Mr.Roosevelt wants. I also do truly agree with this quote because these are the three things that help us to do good things. They help us choose wise decisions. They also help us to be a better person. The body helps you move and also gives you 5 senses. Since you can move you van go help people or do some chores and you will be rewarded. People will like how generous you are and appreciate you. Your mind controls your body. It tells it what to do. You also think what you have to do. You always have think about what is right and make the choices for yourself. Finally your character. Your character describes what type of a good person you are like your personality. Character is mainly important because it shows what type of person you are.

Body-Mind-Spirit

"Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being."
By: Mr. C.S. Haymore

What I understand about this quote is that everybody takes advantage of their body, mind, and spirit. Like somebody can't control what you're eating or what you'r eating. Or what you're feeling. You, yourself can only take control of that. Nobody else but you. And it's really your responsibility to take care of that. For example, people do so much harm to their body by getting piercings, tattoos, and doing stupid stuff to put their body, mind, and spirit in risk. Those are the kind of people who choose the wrong 24/7. Those type of people do not care about going to college and succeeding in life. They're are failures. I'm not saying that people who gets piercings or tattoos are failures but those who exaggerate and get them everywhere by putting their lives in risk are because they don't care about anything at all. Also another example would be saying no to drugs. I think it's essential for everyone to say no to drugs so they can have a nice and clean healthy body. You should always have your body and spirit clean. Your mind as well.

Reflection:

There are many student services that are open for us students. There are meal schedules like what they are going to serve for lunch or breakfast. And there are also graduation requirements what you need to graduate from high school. And so many services in which help you know standards or what LAUSD is looking into us to make us a better person. The LAUSD think we matter to them, think we are all smart and that we are their future. What we are not supposed to be doing like bullying people or making fun of people of LGBT person. My thought for this is that it's cool how they have this out for the public so people are concern in what to do, or what they're teaching us. This applies to me because I am aware of what we get taught in school. In addition, the LAUSD also provides us with a variety of resources. A resource can be sports. Lets say you're in a sport and you have a game, you need to arrive at the school and they can offer you a ride if you need one. Another resource is if you need extra help in something, the staff/teacher provides you with help which is a good thing. I believe LAUSD really does provide you with good resources.

The Goal of Education

"Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education."
By: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

What this quote means is that great intelligence and great character will produce a great amount of achievement. I believe that intelligence is really not enough because everybody has it. Anyone can memorize a song, a mathematical equation, the periodic table, the 50 states and etc. Great character is essential to have if you want to achieve. Having a great character is the goal of education. An example would be the bicycle. How you need intelligence and character in order for you to ride your bike. Just like us. we need it to advance in society. If you have less character and and more intelligence, it won't work out. Also if you have more character and less intelligence, it won't work out as well. That's why you need both to balance everything out. I really do like and agree with this quote because you need both wheels to  move. It is impossible to move with a flat tire.

"We need the courage to START and CONTINUE what we should do, and the courage to STOP what we shouldn't do."

"We need the courage to START and CONTINUE what we should do, and the courage to STOP what we shouldn't do."
By: Richard L. Evan

What this quote defines is that people need enough courage to start and continue to do what's right. It's important to lead yourself to the correct path. The key to success is the choose the right and that's why you need to always do things that right. To those who are leading their self to the wrong path to failure, needs to get encouraged top stop doing what they are doing and help them to do what they are supposed to do. You always need start and continue to do what's right and never stop. Doing the right thing should be a priority. It's essential to choose the right. Doing the right thing will make yourself right. You should do it all the time no matter what situation you're in. For example, if you're with your friends and they invite you go smoke and get high, you should refuse to go because doing drugs is not right. You can get addicted easily even your first time trying it. And you should avoid those type people who do drugs because they will try to force you to take drugs and will affect your life. Another example for doing the right is to always study and prepare yourself for college to be successful in the future.

"When you tell one lie, it leads to another."

"When you tell one lie, it leads to another."
By: Paul Hatch

What this quote means is that whenever you tell a lie to another, that person will go on and tell another and it will go on. It's like spreading rumors. It isn't right to tell lies about others. You wouldn't like it if somebody was spreading lies about you so why would you do it to somebody else? Telling lies is most likely choosing the wrong. You always need to be truthful to others. When you tell a lie to a person, that person will definitely tell another and will get spread and people will start to make things up and that is not a good thing because you never know if can affect the person you are talking about. Rumors can really harm people. Sometimes words can hurt more than actions. When somebody tells you a secret, that means they trust you and that doesn't mean that you have to somebody else. You need to keep it to yourself. Even if you dislike someone, it's still not right to tell a lie.

School Break Days

School Break Days
My Christmas semester break was ok. On Christmas Eve, I went shopping for a nice outfit to wear and got my nails done. I didn't really get much for Christmas. I got a Dreamville sweater, a new phone, money, and makeup. It was nice spending time with my family on Christmas. I really do enjoy spending time with my family. After the week of Christmas, it was New Years Eve and I went over to my besftriend's house for a while and met her family. It was kind of awkward since I'm a shy type and not social. After that, I headed off to my aunt's house to gather around with my family to celebrate new years. I am thankful to live a new year and thankful to start 2016 with my friends and family. All I really did was go to the mall and the movies during my Christmas semester break. I watched The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 2 and Daddy's Home. I really enjoyed watching those movies. Well that's pretty much it what I did for my Christmas semester break, it really isn't fascinating.
