My First 2 Weeks of School

My first two weeks of school as a freshman have been good. I've met a bunch of new friends and can't wait to meet more. I was nervous at first being in classrooms full with people I don't know but somehow I just started getting comfortable and started to talk to people in my table. I love all of my classes. I have no problems with any of my classes. They're great. I have all of my friends for my advisory class and some friends in my other classes. I love to meet new people I'm really like a social person. The thing I don't like is that we don't have lunch with Libra and SSJ. I have much more friends in those other academies and it sucks not seeing some of my friends until after-school or sometimes in the morning before school. So, I love all of my teachers. They're really chill and nice. They really help me with my work when I don't understand something and get along with me. I am thinking of joining clubs but I'm not sure what club to join. Also, I am planning to take AP English, AP History, AP Spanish, and AP Environmental studies. Currently, I am thinking joining basketball or baseball for JV. I've never had experience at all with those sports but that won't stop me.  What I really dislike about this school is that we enter at 7:30 am and that's too early. Other school's like SGHS go in at 7:53 am and come out the same time as us. I was late today just by a minute and still get detention. I really don't mind waking up early but going in that early is just dumb to be honest. What I like is that there are classes where I have some sophomores and I think that's cool because I get to talk to them. They're friendly and I enjoy working with them because they help me. What is really sad about High school is that in elementary and middle school you have your close friends and your group and when you get to High school everyone splits up and you won't get to see them everyday like you used to. I miss my best friend Amanda. Currently, she goes to a High school at Lynwood called Firebough High school.  This is all I have to say. These 2 past weeks of High school has been a blast already!

Me, Myself, and I.

Hello! My name is Leslie Ortega.My friends and family call me by the name "Lesslow." I am 14 years old and a freshman at HPIAM this year. I am absolutely very happy being here. I really like this school. I like to play basketball and run. Hopefully I make it into Jv or Varsity for basketball or make it into cross country. My main hobby is to spend quality time with my family. Currently, I am living a wonderful life living with my mom and sister. I love them very much. I also love my dad. If it wasn't for my mom, I wouldn't be the person I am today. She has taught me so well to treat others with respect and to take advantage of this school because she said she didn't have an opportunity to go to college because of family problems. She always makes sure that I  always have good grades and to do good in school. Whenever I am going through stuff, my mom is always there for me or sometimes I just listen to music to ease my mind. Music makes me happy. I sing and dance to music even though I can't. I listen to 90's hip hop like Tupac, Eazy E, and Notorious BIG. Sometimes I listen to Today's Hip Hop music like J Cole., Drake, YG, and G-Eazy. My favorite artist of all time is Frank Ocean. I love his music especially his voice. It's beautiful lol. Um I love to eat. I usually go to Tam's after school to eat chilly cheese fries. I never watch TV. All I do at home is use my phone and use social media.This is all I have to say about myself. There's not pretty much anything interesting about my life but I still love it.
