"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."

"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."
Pathros
Patriarch of Antioch & All the East, 1846-'94

This quote defines that just because you have all the money in the world, it doesn't make you wealthy, it just simply makes you rich but what counts more is your heart. If you're a gentle and really generous person, you're rich in your heart, and that's the person you truly are. Somebody can be the richest individual in the world with all the money and fame but that doesn't make them wealthy. If they were really kind to help the people in needy around the world then that is being wealthy. It's the thought that counts. Being wealthy is to helping people in poor countries, donating to charity, feeding the homeless, helping around your community, and respecting others. When someone is not wealthy, they're selfish and greedy with their money. They won't help people. Wealthy people who have no heart and empathy to help others are self-centered. Basically according to this quote, it's not money that makes you rich, it's the good in your heart that makes you wealthy.

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."
By: Ezra T. Benson

This quote defines that it is impossible for someone to feel about doing something wrong or terribly wrong. When you do wrong, you should feel bad for what you've done. When you do something good, most of the time people feel good about their selves. What this quote is trying to say is that how can you possibly do something wrong and feel good about it? Unless you are a bad a person with no feelings then it would be understandable but most of the time, bad people should think about what they have done or think about doing or saying something without hurting others. Not everything is impossible but I totally do agree with this quote being impossible because most of us do feel sorry and feel guilt when we do wrong. An example of doing wrong is bullying. Bullies pick on others just because they feel insecure about themselves or just for fun but when they realize that they've hurt someone and that someone can do something to their self like committing suicide, they will feel bad and sorry until it's too late. An example of doing good is being obedient, respecting others, and avoiding things that will get you in trouble. It's important that you do good because it will bring good rewards to your life unlike doing wrong things. Doing bad will bring you negative consequences to your life.

"When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad."

"When I do good, I feel good. When I feel bad, I feel bad."
By: Abraham Lincoln

This quote defines that when you make a decision about something, regardless of whether it's good or bad, you're going to feel some type of way. Doing good is choosing the right and that's where you want to lead yourself to.  Choosing the wrong is doing bad. Whenever you choose the right and do something good, you will feel good knowing that you're a good person. If you choose the wrong and do something bad, you will feel bad and knowing that you're a bad person. Majority of the time, people feel this. Doing good or bad, will make you feel like you've done something good or bad with your life. Every time I do some thing good, I feel proud about myself and feel good for a while. When I do something bad, I feel guilt in me and regretting about what I've done. For example, doing a good thing is helping others. It will let people know that you have a good reputation about yourself. An example of doing bad is stealing, being disobedient, and not caring for others.

"The key to freedom is obedience. The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."

"The key to freedom is obedience. The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."
By: Boyd K. Packer

This quote defines that when you obey the good rules, you will have a lot more freedom than those who disobey. Obeying the rules will give you good consequences and will lead you to a good future. Disobeying will make you face through bad consequences. For example, if you break a law, you will get locked up and lose your freedom. If you commit a crime, you will no longer get to see the outside world and never get to take a foot step outside of prison or jail. Those are the bad consequences you will face if you choose the wrong. Good people who choose the right will be receiving good awards. For example, if your teacher assigns you homework or when you need to study, just do it and good will come back to you and that good is getting good grades. Getting good grades will give you lots of opportunities in the future.  It's important to be obedient. Everyone should be obedient because nobody wants to lose their freedom. Unless you're a CTW person, then you will lose your freedom and that's one of the worst punishments that anyone has to go through.

"Obedience is the great test of life."

"Obedience is the Greatest Test of Life"

By: Thomas S. Monson

This quote defines that by testing your own obedience, people will get to see what kind of person you are. If you obey things that people tell you to do that are good, you're a good person. If you disobey someone who is trying to order you to do something good, you're a bad person. Obeying is choosing the right. That's the correct path that you want to lead yourself too.  You are living your life by the rules and obeying to what people tell you to do. Obeying will give you good consequences in life. For example, in school you need to obey the teacher. When they assign you an assignment or homework, you do it and good will come back to you.  You will get good grades, scholarships, and enter into a university. Obedience is the key to living a safe and healthy life. Obedience is a challenge for everyone because not everyone wants to obey what they're ordered to do. It's a great challenge but some people will take time to master it.

911 memorials

911 Memorials

On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 a.m. on a clear Tuesday morning, tragic even occurred at the World Trade Center in New York City. It was just a typical day. People were ready to get to work, finish work, and go home but this happened unexpectedly. Terrorists flew into two skyscrapers at the World Trade Center. The impact caused the building to catch fire and collapse. This was the first plane to hit and occurred at 8:46 am. Another plane came at 9:03 am. and crashes into the south tower of the World Trade Center and explodes. Both buildings were burning. At 9:37 am, the hijackers crashed the aircraft in to the western side of the Pentagon. The fourth plane was controlled by passengers because the passengers fought the four hijackers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The two planes that crashed into the skyscrapers left a gapping burning hole near the 80th floor of the 110-story skyscraper, instantly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in higher floors. The attackers were Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations. The 19 terrorists easily smuggled box-cutters and knives through security at three East Coast airports and boarded four flights bound for California. Osama bin Laden (the leader of the al-Qaeda) caused this event. My first memory of these attacks were in 1st grade. My teacher gathered us all around and told us about this tragic event.

Reflection: write your thoughts, feelings, and inslights.

I feel that this event was such a tragic event. Those cowards that caused this will pay for the consequences. It was just a typical Tuesday morning. These innocent peopleworking  who were inside the skyscrapers did not deserve this. This makes me emotional because it was really disturbing to witness videos of people crying for help and dropping their selves out high from the towers just so they won't burn dead. Many firefighters lost their lives to prevent people but they couldn't take it. More than 3,000 died this day and this day will never be forgotten. in the memory of 911.

"Education is the latchkey to success."

"Education is the latchkey to success in life."

By: Gordon B. Hinckley

This quote defines that in order to have a successful life and to be successful, you have to have a good education. Going to school and getting good grades makes a big impact in your life. Education will give you the best opportunity to be successful in life and not worry about anything in the future. Getting an education gives you a chance to go to a university and find a job that you're interested in and get paid well. It's important to have a good education because you have the key to do anything in life. You have the key to read, write, and think. You have the key to do anything in life. Nobody wants to be a failure and have an unsuccessful life. That's why education is there for you. Reading, writing, and studying can be a struggle for you but remember hard work does pay off. Education must be your main priority. Everybody needs education in their life. How else would we be able to communicate, work, read, or write? Education will always be there for you if you choose the right. Everybody should be thinking about being someone in life. For example, if you have a good education and get a really good job, you will not have to worry about paying any bills, buying a house, or struggling in life. You will get paid really good money and won't have to worry about that. This is why I think "Education is the latchkey to success."

Decisions Determine Destiny

"Decisions Determine Destiny"
By Thomas S. Monson

This quote defines that we make our own decisions and whatever decisions we make, we take it and create our future. The wrong decisions we make will lead you to a bad future and the good decisions you make will lead you to a good and successful future. Everyone has decisions to make. Whether you make a good decision or a bad decision. For example, a good decision is maintaining getting good grades, finishing school, and having a successful life. An example for a bad decision is smoking, doing drugs and dropping out of high school. That is choosing the wrong but whatever decision you make will determine destiny and your future. It's all up to you to make a right or wrong decision. Your future depends on you and how you want to live it.

I have a couple of hobbies. I like to play basketball, listen to music, sleep, use my phone, and cook. Whenever I get bored, I go outside in the backyard and play basketball with my cousin. Well we don't really play basketball but we shoot hoops. I got interested in playing basketball by playing it in 6th grade with my friends for p.e and I thought it was really fun. I love to hear music. I love to sing and dance to music even though I can't. I listen to music when I am in a bad mood.
