Duties and responsibilities: Neonatology is a sub specialty of pediatrics that consists of medical care of new born infants, especially the ill or premature newborn infant. It is a hospital-based specialty, and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units. Their duties consists of:
  •   Diagnosing newborns with illness, disorders, infections, or birth defects
  • Organize care of babies in the NICU
  • Manage nutrition to promote the babies' healing and growth 
  • Provide continuous care for infants with life-threatening illnesses with situations
  • Work with the baby's parents to develop a care plan.

Salary: $126,203 - $284,405

Education: To become a Neonatologist, one must graduate from college (4 years), medical school (4 years), then do a 3 year pediatrics residency, and lastly a 3 year sub specialty fellowship.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not? 
Yes I would like to become a Neonatoligist because I find it fun to deal with babies. On this case, we're helping babies who are ill and i would like to work as this because I'm really interested. Also, they get paid well.
