Duties and responsibilities: A psychiatrist is a medical practitioner specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. People seek psychiatric help for many reasons. The problem can be sudden, such as a panic attack, frightening hallucinations, thoughts of suicide, or hearing "voices."  


Salary: $100,387 - $273,020


Education: To become a psychiatrist , a person must complete medical school and take a written examination for a state license to practice medicine, and then complete four years of psychiatry residency, or :
  1. Earn a bachelor's degree
  2. Pursue a Medical Degree
  3. Complete a Residency
  4. Obtain a License
  5. Become Board Certified


Demand for this profession: Not enough Psychiatrists between medium and high demand
